I have just installed the latest version of VB and I wanted to switch on the virtual machine, but It always resets during booting the system.
It is possible to switch it on in emergency mode, but in the normal mode the system is reseted after appearing the login screen. I was trying the advicec in the topic Windows XP restart problem, I have also tried various settings, but nothing was successful. The virtual machine is with Win XP, one core and on the other computers works without problems. Only on two laptops (my and one more other) - both HP - the system always resets after the login screen. Can you help me please?

Problem self-solved
after a plenty of hours of googling and trying:
Run "regedit"
The item
hkey_local_machine/system/currentcontrolset/services/intelppm
(or hkey_local_machine/system/currentcontrolset/services/processor)
change value 'start' to '4'.
And everthing is OK.

Re: Windows XP restart problem on HP laptops
The Intelppm crash is a usually a sign that the XP VM has been moved from its original location (where first installed) to another host with a different CPU. If that's the case then you didn't mention it. The easiest cure is simply to delete intelppm.sys from the \System32\Drivers folder.
