I have a problem. every time i start a windows 2000 vm under linux it keeps crashing whil under windows 7 it runs fine.

I keep getting a blue screen with the error KMODE_EXCEPTION_NOT_HANDELD. and virtualbox give me a guru meditation box.
this happens with existing VM's an d brand new ones, meaning the initial text-only setup goes well but when the VM reboots it also crashes with the same error.

I need for school, so that is why i am asking for help. Does anybody know how i can resolve this.

i have attached an screenshot and the log

You need to make sure that the guest settings on the second PC are as close as possible to the first. In particular IO/APCI, PIIX3 or PIIX4 and 32 vs. 64 bit

those settings are the same io-apic enable, 2 cpu's, PIIX4 (with PIIX3 it give's me a BSOD with inaccessiable_boot_device. both host operating systems on(Win7, ubuntu) my pc are 64-bit.

See if renaming intelppm.sys to intelppm.sys.old with the working one allows it to work on the other one. (might want to use a clone to keep the original safe).

i searched the filesystem but can't find intelppm.sys.

with AMD-V ofd virtualbox itself doesn't crash, and Windows is allowd to create a crash dump.
