It seems that if two different users startup bridged VMs on the same PC, then it will not work. Only one bridged NIC is allowed, on a single PC. Can someone confirm this?
I have a normal user that starts up VMs with bridged NICs. Then I also have a root account user that simultaneously starts up a VM with bridged NIC - which is not allowed. Only one user, on a PC can startup a bridged NIC. Can someone confirm this odd behavior? Can you startup bridged VMs, both as a std user and as a root user?
Is this a bug? (Bridged NIC)

Re: Is this a bug? (Bridged NIC)
i can start 1 vm with a bridged nic. when i want to setup a 2nd vm with a bridged/nat/whatever nic he dismiss the setting for the nic and set it back to not configured or what ever. i use phpvirtualbox for this. if i change the setting for the nic via console then it's ok but i get a 0x50 bsod everytime, safemode is ok. when i start the 2nd vm as a different user it's ok.

So you can start a bridged VM and while it is running - you can do: "su anotheruser" and start up bridged VM? So you can run two bridged VMs at the same time, with two different users?strikernet wrote: when i start the 2nd vm as a different user it's ok.
I can not do that, but I am using Solaris 11 Express as host. What host os are you using?

Re: Is this a bug? (Bridged NIC)
Under a Windows 7 Pro 32 Bit host i tried the following:
4 Win XP Pro guests with 4 bridged NICs each. And it works. All 16 NICs can ping each other and the host.

What happens if you open a new terminal window, and su another user. And then start VB from inside the terminal window, and try bridged NIC? Then you have two VB running with different users. The other user could be root for instance.
