Disabling the F10 keyboard shortcut...

Is it possible to either disable the F10 shortcut for the VBox menu, or to set it to require HOST+F10? I mostly use VBox for development work, and F10 is used by the Visual Studio debuggers. I could probably remap it in VS, but having to relearn it and remember whether I'm in a VM or not would be less than optimal.

When you're in a VM window and the keyboard is grabbed, there is no way to get to the menu unless you use Host+Home. F10 should just go to the Guest. Just tested it and pressing F10 multiple times does not show or focus the menu. Even the main window doesn't listen to F10 on my system. Maybe it's a Windows thing. Still doesn't explain it's working if the keyboard is grabbed by the VM.

I have the same problem. F10 brings up the 'Machine' menu, and is invisible to the Guest OS.

OS: Ubuntu 11.04 2.6.38-11
VBox: 4.0.10 r72479
Guest OS: Win XP

I found this is nothing to do with VBox. If blame must be apportioned, blame Unity! :)

Launch CompizConfig, and select "Unity" under "Desktop".
Set "Key to open the first panel menu" to something else - perhaps F12

Note that the terminal emulator (console window) has its own setting: See Edit, keyboard shortcuts
