USB Support Won't Install With MSI
I was using Virtual Box just fine then had a major crash that I needed to uninstall and reinstall, at the reinstall I can't get it to successfully finish. It errors out, rolls back changes and cites error code #2869. I've read on other forums that sometimes leftover drivers can effect this from the previous install. I've deleted them in device manager, at least the USB driver called Virtual Box USB. It's driving me nuts because I did have it working perfectly before. This is Windows 7 64bit running Windows XP 32bit. I've tried clearing temp files, manually deleting Virtual Boxes leftovers after uninstall and removing device drivers that seemed to belong to Virtual Box. I just installed on my laptop with USB support with no problems on a clean install of Virtual Box but this reinstall on my desktop seems impossible. Any Help appreciated, also new to the forums here! Hope to help other people out as I go along!

You could google msi error 2869. It has a long history. Have you tried to install using the run as administrator option?

Also new here for posting but I have been lurking for a long time. Have you tried installing to a different directory? Also try turning off the user Access Control for the install. It's always a last resort but fixes the problem most of the time.
