Virtual Box GAME Glitch with WIN-XP

Post by Whiplash88 »

Hey everyone, I have a quick question I need help with.

I'm running windows xp in virtual box, on a windows 7 pro 64bit machine. I've installed Age of Empires II and The Conquerors Expansion onto the computer, and it seems to work just fine. Problem is, I can't get virtual box to run it in a 32 bit scheme. I've got windows xp in 32bit colors (checked several times) and I even gave virtual box 2 gigs of access to ram, and 128mb of virtual memory. Any suggestions or fixes? Anyone else running into this problem? Or is age of empires so old that its built for 16 bit color schemes and nothing higher?

Thanks for your help in advance,

I don't do games so I can't confirm or deny that it will work, but I do know that you need to be sure to install the guest additions (in the guest) and if you want 3D acceleration you must install them with the guest in safe mode.
