How to switch monitors while suspended?

Post by alsan »

I'm always work with two monitors, and usually suspend my vm before I'm leaving. It's OK while I'm working between home and office, except working outside. While I'm work outside, I don't have an external monitor, and the VM is in suspend mode, the only choice for me is fot FORCE SHUTDOWN the vm, and change the no. of monitor to 1.

Any suggestion to this situation?

You can't resume the VM normally? Then it would just be a matter of resuming it, bring it out of the state it was in (full screen or seamless) and put it back into that mode. Your Host should then put it on the active screen. If you suspend your machine too, then try to blindly move the window to your visible monitor.

I've never heard of a user getting his/her VM painted outside the area available in X. When a monitor is disconnected and turned off in the display settings, all windows on that monitor will be moved to the remaining active monitor.
