I have a small fast SSD, and a large slow HD. I wonder if it is possible to have a WinXP virtual machine on the small SSD where I do work. And a WinXP virtual machine with lots of big games on the large slow HD. Is this possible to switch between them in an easy way? How can I switch between the VMs on different disks?

You've been a user since 2008. Are you saying that you've never before now learned how to mount a drive from a non-default location?

No, I am asking: is there any easy way to switch location of VMs from disk to disk? There is "preferences" and choose "default folder for VMs". But if I choose another default folder, then I need to delete the ".Virtualbox" folder and recreate it, every time I switch folder?

I choose "defaultfolder for VMs:" and set it to large HD, and play some games.
Then I delete ".Virtualbox" folder and set "default folder for VMs" to my small fast SSD when I do some work. And I have to delete ".Virtualbox" folder every time I switch disk? Is there any more convienent way to switch disks?

Your subsequent response deals with changing the default location, which wasn't the question.

Anyway, to mount a drive from a non-default location, you just go into your VM settings storage section and uh... do it.

I have mine the same way. For each VM I have it on its own harddrive. I hear that having to many VMs on one disk causes major slowdown. It was really easy to do, it asks you where you want to put the VM when you first create it.
