I use a virtual desktop under linux and I have observed an annoying issue with windows jumping between desktop while booting (changing window resolution).
So it goes like this:
1 - I boot a guest in virtual desktop 2
2 - while it boots, I switch to desktop 1 to do another task
3 - when screenresolution change on guest, it jumps from desktop 2 to desktop 1
I would like the window to stay in virtual desktop 2 while booting.
Is this a known bug/issue or is it possible to prevent it? ty.

Re: Guest window jumps from desktop to desktop while booting
Minimize the Guest while it's booting, then you should be able to switch virtual desktop without the VM popping up. What you see might be a bug in your window manager, not VB specifically. Try it with other applications that resize their window without having to be focussed, or somehow make a window resize that's not in view and observe the behaviour.
Another thing you can do, and this depends on your window manager/desktop manager, is tell it (the wm/dm) to always put the VM on the second desktop.

Re: Guest window jumps from desktop to desktop while booting
Thanks for tip on closing window. I'm using regular Gnome 2 on two different distributions so this should be a common issue. I'm not familiar with other applications that does such resize while booting, but I guess it could be tested and reported to the Gnome team.

Re: Guest window jumps from desktop to desktop while booting
You better report it at the Compiz project, because I think you run that as window manager instead. I have seen the same behaviour as you and I use Xfce 4.8 as DM, but Compiz as WM (for the effects and some other useful functions). Most distro's use Compiz as window manager for Gnome too. If you have effects, then you use Compiz as manager.
