I created a VM of a Server 2003 machine.
- On the real machine my password changed, lets pretend I changed it from 123 to 456.
- On the VM my password is still 123. I can log into the machine with 123 but I get a ton of password popups because my domain password is really 456.
How can I sync the password up on the VM?
Here is what I have tried:
- Not logged into the network I tried to change the password on the VM. Unable to change password since I am not on the network.
- Logged into the net work I tried to change my password:
- I tried old password 123, new password 456. Error said old password isnt my current password.
- I tried old password 456, new password 456. Error says I've used that password recently.

Re: Domain Password Sync on VM
This isn't a VB question. What you see is the result of cached credentials and being logged on at two systems at the same time. When you change your password on system A, it's directly send to the DC. This password change is then used by every service you use and have to authenticate for. Until you log out and back in on System B, you will keep getting errors.
Simple Windows question, not VB. Therefore, locked. If you don't understand it, ask your system admin or grab an MCSE book (or just Google it).
