How do I find out the port for a USB device?

Post by HiJackZX1 »

I am setting up a six seat setup. 1 being the Host, 5 being Guests. With that being said, the setup has 6 touchscreens, 6 keyboards, and 6 soundcards. Currently I am only testing with the screens and soundcards. Here is the issue I am running into, when I install the USB soundcard to the VM, it works when it wants to. I also noticed that if I select one USB card per VM, it will go crazy and select them all. All the IDs on the soundcard under Virtual Box are the same. So how do I get it to always go to the correct soundcard? I have to fix this issue because I know once I start plugging in the rest of the devices, I am going to run into the same issue since all touchscreens, soundcards, and keyboards are all the same model. Is there another way to get a specific USB device on a VM?

OK, I did some reading and I have to assign a serial number, and or port. These soundcards do not display a serial number though. Also I can not figure out how to figure out the port.

OK, according to Win 7 64bit, the port of one soundcard is Port_#0001.Hub_#0010. I can not put this into virtual box though. Any ideas on what to do?
