udp between windows 7 host and windows 7 guest

I have a 64 bit windows 7 host with a 32 bit windows 7 guest. I have the bridged adapter set upon the guest, so I have internet connection and I can ping both computers using the other one. I have tried turning windows firewall off, but it does not solve the problem. I am trying to test a program that uses udp packets sent at a steady rate. The guest can send udp packets to the host, but the host cannot send udp packets back to the guest. Everything in virtualbox is on default settings besides setting the adapter to bridge adapter. Can anyone help me?
