Hello Everyone,
I tried running a couple pieces of CCTV DVR software in Virtualbox but I cannot seem to see the video playback.
When running the application in Virtualbox the image portion of the application is either black or blue.
I tried several different applications (for different DVRs) and this occurred on all of them.
In one application, it even through an exception complaining about the Direct Draw Secondary?
However, these applications run fine under Parallels Desktop for Mac.
It seems the problem is perhaps related to Virtualbox's video acceleration?
I tried the following:
1. Enable disable 2D acceleration in Virtual Box
2. Enable disable video acceleration in Windows (via the "troubleshooting tab")
Is there anything else I can do to help resolve this issue? Any logs that would be useful to see why perhaps the video drawing surfaces are not being rendered correctly?
This problem occurs in Virtualbox for Mac running Windows 7 64-bit, Windows XP 32-bit.

Re: Video Playback problem with Virtual Box?
I enabled the 3D driver and saw a brief glimmer of hope... then VirtualBox crashed and burned ...
Does VirtualBox publish a roadmap in terms of feature support? Anyone know what the priority is on the 3D driver and whether it will be comparable to Parallel's Desktop video support in the near future?
Thanks!
