when an easy networkin

Post by dbvieira »

4.0.10 is out ...but still no news on networking configuration made simpler ....I mean when can one simply ssh without having to fidle with briged networks etc etc....

Ok some people like as it is....fine...have two modes ...desktop (NAT as it is) and Server ( as VMware).

I really like virtualbox, but last time took me more time to do port forwardin on linux then to test what i needed...I dream 4 the day when VB will be as simple as VMWare on networking....unitl then...i keep chekin the news and using vmware...

Care to enlighten us how your pie-in-the-sky "do-what-I-mean-networking" is supposed to work?

You really find VMWare networking easier to use than VirtualBox? I certainly don't.

Well...I recommend the above users to try VMWARE

when you create a new VM on vmware you choose NAT and automatically you can SSH or connect to it WITHOUT doing any config/bridging and two pages tutorials... It just WORKS!!!!!

Does it works the same way on virtualbox? VBOX is a simple product with better usage than vmware...but in terms of networking is much harder....I wish it worked the same way as VMWARE simple and straight

But VMWare has exactly the same three options as VirtualBox and in VirtualBox NAT is selected by default. For most people it also just works!

Do you wanna speak about this BillG....

Vitualbox is great for destop emulation...if you wana teste some server you must must to bridge connections + setups that dont fit on one setence....if you even dream about headless install you might better forget it.

Unless that someone prove that im wrong in one setence VMWARE, VMWARE ESXI and PROMOX are FAR easy to work with....Speacially proxmox, im loving the experience!!!!

Then why are you beating yourself up so much. Delete VirtualBox and stick with you other Virtualizers. Personally I have used them all and yes there are a few things that each do differently. But, to say that VirtualBox is not cutting it for a lot of folks is simply wrong. It may not be simple enough for you and that is where help comes in until you actually learn how to do things. Same as with the other virtualizers.

How many times must this be rehashed?

Get off the stick and getting used to learning!
Every product has has its own ways of doing the same tasks.

Perhaps because there are a lot of stupid illiterate people wrong and just a few illuminated right people ...thats you wanna say????....perhaps you get off the sick and getting used to read what people write then you might learn something...or at least you could maintain the conversation...but you are right when you say
ChipMcK wrote:every product has has its own ways of doing the same tasks
....there are two ways...the easy and the complicated.....i prefer the easy....it leaves me more time to annoy the complicated people....
Perryg wrote:It may not be simple enough for you and that is where help comes in until you actually learn how to do things
no one said i could not do things...what i say is that networking is far difficult that could and should be in NAT mode...more complicated than vmware...I dont know why people are beating themselves so much offending others and talking off-subject instead of accepting the truth or just proving that VB NAT Mode is easy than Vmware NAT ( i whould even accepts a "is better because" argument).
