Cannot overwrite files in shared folders.

Hello,
I have the following problem:
Configuration:
----------------------------------
Host OS: Ububntu 11.04 Natty Narwhal, ext4 file system
VirtualBox: OSE 4.0.8.r71778
Guest OS: Windows XP Professional Build 2600_xpsp_sp3_gdr.090206-1234 (Service Pack 3), NTFS file system
Guest Additions: 4.0.8.r71778
Hardware: Lenovo G560 / 6GB RAM / DualCore
The problem:
----------------------------------
In the guest OS, inconsistently, but often enough to disturb the work process, files cannot overwritten on drives mounted from shared folders. The destination file disappears, but the source file is not copied. The source file then can be copied to the destination folder with no further errors. Manually deleting the destination file and then copying the source file also works flawlessly.
- Total Commander gives the following error: "Error: Cannot write <full the file path with file extension>! Please remove write protection!"
- Windows Explorer (copy from explorer to explorer) and Ctrl-C / Ctrl-V within Total Commander give the following error: "Cannot copy <file name with NO extension>: the perameter is incorrect."
- Visual Studio 2010 cannot overwrite it's output files (i.e. is unable to perform a successful build) for SOME projects, giving the error "The perameter is incorrect."
- Doesn't depend on destination file location within the file tree structure - tested with the destination file located in the root of the shared drive, as well in it's original location.
- Doesn't depend on the location of the source file - fails with source files located on a shared drive as well as on a vdi volume.
- Once it happens with a specific file it can be reproduced at any time during the windows session.
- Doesn't happen with destination files located on SMB network shares provided by the host system and mapped as drives in the guest. (cannot use this though - it's slow and has a bunch of problems with trust, network limitation etc.)
- Reportedly a similar configuration (Ubuntu Natty host with ext4, Windows XP SP3 guest, same VBox and guest additions version on a dual core system) does not show the symptom.
Guest configuration:
