Having abandoned Ubuntu 11.04 due to its instability I have now done a fresh install of VirtualBox v4.0.8 on my Vista host, and installed a Fedora 15 guest.
I have tried to install the guest additions according to the instructions here : http://www.sysprobs.com/install-fedora- ... -fedora-15. But part way through the install of the guest additions I get the following message :
The headers for the current running kernel were not found.
If the following module compilation fails then this could be the reason.
The missing package can be installed with yum install kernel-devel-2.6.38.8-32.fc15.i686.PAE.
However, if I run that command I am told there is no such package available. The guest addition installer continues seemingly OK, but after a restart they are not loaded (though mouse integration appears to be on indicating the the GA's are installed, session information says they are not and most of the other functionality ie. fullscreen mode etc is unavailable).
I never had such problems with previous versions of VirtualBox when running earlier versions of Ubuntu (only performance issues).
Any advice greatly appreciated. Thanks.
