s3tc compression

I am trying to enable s3tc compression on a Fedora 15 (64 bit) guest.

I installed driconf but when i run it i get the following error:
Driver "vboxvideo" is not installed or does not support configuration.

is there anyway around this?

The DRI driver we ship with our Guest Additions implements only very basic features, have a look at the sources. I assume this is the reason why s3tc will not work in your guest.
