32-bit scanner won't work

Sorry if this has been addressed before, I couldn't find the information I need ANYWHERE.

OK. So I'm running Windows 7 and I'm using Windows XP on the virtualbox. I have a Canoscan Lide 20 and it won't work on Windows 7 because it uses 32-bit drivers.

I've tried a few things, but no luck. I keep getting the "failed to attach USB device" in virtualbox. Would greatly appreciate any help on this as I don't want to buy a whole new scanner. Thanks in advance.

Your question was already asked and answered in "Windows Hosts". Please do not cross post again.

Where? The search feature on the forums wouldn't work for me. Please send a link to the answer.

I've already scoured google and many sites including this one looking for the answer. I already stated that I've search EVERYWHERE and could not find a solution. Would appreciate help with my exact problem. I haven't seen anyone who got a USB scanner that uses 32-bit drivers to work in virtualbox with a 64-bit host. What I've found, I've tried, and it doesn't work. The only "solution" I've found is that some USB devices simply won't work, and rather have that be my solution and buy a new scanner, I'd like to figure out a way to use mine on Windows 7. I'm brand new to this forum, so instead of being rude and unhelpful, If you know where a working solution for me is, by all means, send me a link to the thread, because I've looked and looked and cannot find it ANYWHERE.
