Virtual box query regarding ip address on host os and vb

Post by sublimestorm »

Hey guys, I was in a little bit trouble I thought why not ask here when y'all can help me out.

I installed windows XP on virtual box. Lets name this windows B. So when I went to lan settings and internet connection info etc, I saw that the ip address for this is starting with 10.120 something like that.

How can I change this IP Address to the one same as my host OS or like the last digit different to it ??

TL;DR :

My virtual box XP ip address : 10.12.xx.x.x
My HOST OS ip address : 192.168.0.101 <-- Router IP.

How do I make the virtual box ip address same to the HOST OS ip address, just the last digits should be 102 or 103 instead of 101?

MOD Edit: removed color and other tags to improve readability.

Use Bridged instead of NAT. See Chapter 6 of your VirtualBox users manual.
