Post by worldblackstar »

I am using virtual box in ubuntu and trying to load backtrack os. i want to access the my hard drive, for that guest additions is needed. I have download as iso and stored in /usr/share/virtualbox. then i have started the virtual box and load the backtrack. if i click the install guest additions, the guestadditions.iso file is mounted(at the same time backtrack is unmounted and cause error). Please guide me to install the guest addition in my guest os.

If Backtrack runs from CD, you will never be able to install the Guest Additions, as you're working in a live environment. Any changes you make are lost after a reboot and a reboot is required to complete the installation of the GA. To avoid this, install Backtrack to VDI hard drive.
