Windows XP Guest, OpenGL 2

I am trying to get OpenGL 2 on my guest Windows XP SP3 operating system.

I have installed the Guest Additions and 3D is enabled. However, when I try to run pretty much any OpenGL application, it crashes. So I ran GPU Caps Viewer and it says that the current OpenGL Version is "1.1 Chromium 1.9". Whats going on? I was under the impression that VirtualBox supported OpenGL 2 on guest OS's.

I suspect that you have not read the VirtualBox users manual yet.
See Chapter 4.4.1 Hardware 3D acceleration (OpenGL and Direct3D 8/9)

I have read the manual with regards to 3d support. I am not asking how to enable it. I want to know why I only have access to OpenGL 1.1 and others have access to OpenGL 2.1 (see the links in the first post).

Does Windows XP not have OpenGL 2.1 support yet?

edit: nvm, it looks like there is support for OpenGL 2.1 through WindowsXP

Why am I stuck on 1.1 then :(

Yes it does with the proper guest additions installed (in safe mode). I would think that you would also need to make sure that your host video drivers are updated to the latest release as well.

VirtualBox version 4.0.8 is the newest release of VirtualBox.

doh! Yes that is probably the problem. I just formated this computer with a new Windows 7 install.

*facepalm*

edit: yes that fixed it. Thanks! :D
