Multiple snapshots under one VM hard drive

Post by Burp »

In the manual it gives an example in the snapshot tree where you could have more than one snapshot branching off of the same parent hard drive. An example: I would like to build a hard drive with a standard installation of Windows Vista. Then I would create two snapshots for this parent and install two different versions of IE in each. I do not see a command for doing this, not even in vboxmanage. Any suggestions? Thanks

Do the standard installation. Then create a snapshot (A). Then install the first version of the IE. Then create another snapshot (B). Then terminate the VM and restore the first snapshot (A). Then install the other version of IE. Then create a third snapshot (C). Now you can restore either snapshot B or C to use the different versions of the IE.
