WonderWare on Windows XP guest

Post by mperu99 »

hello all,

I have a guest of XP sp2 as well as XP sp3 and when i install wonderware intouch version 10.0 on the guest OS
it works fine until i do the runtime at which it randomly will blue screen and reboot the system. i have done several fresh installs

i installed the same setup on a vmware 7.x system and it works fine, so it has something to do with Virtualbox anyone else every installed an app that crashed on virtual box but worked on vmware? and did you figure out how to get virtualbox working?

VirtualBox 4.0.8 r71778 win.x86

It would help if you captured the contents of the bluescreen. Start by turning off the Windows feature which causes a reboot on a reset.

A guest which crashes on a VBox setup but not on VMware does not necessarily indicate a bug in either. Even if we assumed everything else was equal (e.g. same hosts, so same physical disks, RAM and CPU being exercised), the cause is more likely to be a bad device driver.
