4.0.10 supposedly works on Lion hosts if the host is running the 64 bit Kernel.
My old Mac Pro 1,1 has a 32 bit EFI and can not boot Lion into 64 bit mode.
All my attempts to get any VMs started on 4.0.10 (and 4.0.4 and 4.0.8 ) with Lion 32 host have failed.
I did try downloading and running VB 4.1 beta onto a Lion GM host and got a Linux VM to start last night.
I didn't get to play around much to see how stable it might be.
I would be a lot more interested in when we get to see support for Lion as a guest.
Lion GM client looks pretty good, but Lion Server is still too messed up for me to load as my primary OS.
Thank you much! I will try 4.1 beta, I just didn't know about it. My old MBP 2,2 also doesn't support 64bit kernel..

When I look under the Activity monitor, VirtualBox seems to be running in 32bit mode. I'm using a Core 2 Duo Macbook. Shouldn't this say "64bit" like other programs?

Is there any word on where Lion compatibility stands?
I continue to get this particular error when trying to log on to the VM:
STOP: C000021a {Fatal System Error}
The Windows Logon Process System process terminated unexpectedly with a status of (0x00000000 0x00000000)
The system has been shut down
I've changed the acceleration setting (i.e., disabled VT-x/AMD-V) and still get the same thing. I was hoping that because it's been the better part of 6 months since Lion's introduction, something might be new/different.
If it was just to run some games on the XP-side of it, I'd say it's not worth the issue. But my kid's math program runs on that side of the machine - and as much as he'd love to skip out on a part of his daily lessons, this mama isn't gonna let that happen. Sorry, kiddo!
Anyhow, if any of you have insight or suggestions, I'm all ears and happy to give different configurations a whirl. TIA!

VirtualBox works fine on my late 2011 MacBook Pro with OSX Lion.
What's missing is specific Lion features, like full-screen.

Can someone help me with virtual box.
I keep getting this error message NS_ERROR_FAILURE (0x80004005)
Also, there are no verbiage in the virtual box, no words what so ever, none accept that error message.
I have a new mac just got it in November with Software Mac OS X Lion 10.7.2 (11C74).
I saw few comments that some were able to install virtual box on Lion.
but I can't I have tried all versions up to 4.1.0 and they all give me that error.

Try searching the site on that error; it's mentioned often, sometimes with solutions that worked.
Example:
viewtopic.php?f=8&t=45053
I chased file permission problems for months on a Mac host, ended up wiping the drive and installing fresh several times before they quit interfering with VBox. No clue what advice to give, I'm way too new at this myself.

OSX 10.7.3 is out as of yesterday.
Since updating to 10.7.3, I can once again run two VMs (Windows guests) under VBox 4.1.8 without crashing when I close one of them.
