I'm not sure which forum this should go under (Windows Host / Linux Guest), but I'm leaning towards the new Ubuntu being the cause. I first upgraded to new Ubuntu using an earlier version of Virtualbox (maybe 4.0.4?) and it seemed to work fine, but shortly after upgarded 4.0.6 and then started having issues, Ubuntu was super slow and eventually would crash. I've since upgraded to VB 4.0.8 and still am having the issue, but have solved it by disabling 3d acceleration thus disabling most of the new 'Unity" features in Ubuntu 11.04.
The system works fine now, and I'm happy not having that stupid sidebar, but I'd still like to know if others are having these issues and if there's a fix?
Host machine is running Windows XP SP3 and Graphics card is Intel HD Graphics (Core i5)
Ubuntu 11.04 super slow? Or new VirtualBox?

System works flawlessly now using 3d acceleration but using Ubuntu 'Classic' (choice from the login screen)
