I have tried installed centOS-5.5-i386 DVD on virtual box, it was installed without any problem but when i tried to install guestaddition, the installation of guestaddition support upto fordersharing was ok but after that os automatically gets shutdown and tries to restart again and again but didn't get start, and on
startup it shows some FATAL error message (karnel has carshed).
Even I have changed the virtualbox from vresion 4.0.4 to 4.0.8 but the problem was still same ..

Did you install all the latest updates and made sure you didn't switch kernel flavour? It's fine if you get a kernel update, but it's not good if you switch kernel flavour, like from generic to xen. Since you just started, try a full update before installing the GA once you've installed the Guest again.
