install os with multiple diskes

Post by parag »

Hello Friends ...

problem-1:
------------
I want to install centOS-5.5-x64 on virtualbox 4.0.4, but I have 6 CDs can any one help me how to install with multiple CDs. Is it possible to install with multiple CDs.

problem-2:
------------
I have tried installed centOS-5.5-i386 DVD on virtual box, it was installed without any problem but when i tried to install guestaddition, the installation of guestaddition support upto fordersharing is ok but after that os automatically gets shutdown and tries to restart again and again but didn't get start, and on
startup it shows some FATAL error message.
Even I have changed the virtualbox from vresion 4.0.4 to 4.0.8 but the problem was still same ..

Yes, it is possible to install from multiple CDs. I don't know why you are having any difficulty with that, perhaps you might find it easier to make ISO images of the disks and use that instead.

The user manual is quite clear on how to install Linux guest additions. In any case your second question belongs in the "Linux Guests" forum.
