Hi, I'm new to virtualbox, and I think this is a fairly basic (and I'm guessing obvious) question, but the official documentation doesn't give a straight answer, and I haven't found a clear explanation online:
What exactly to auto-mount and make permanent do (checkboxes when adding shared folders)? What is the difference between them?
Thanks,
Adam

Re: Shared Folders: Basic (short) Question
Make permanent retains the link to the host share but does not mount it.
Auto-mount will do just what it says and mount the share at boot without user intervention of setup properly.
