I installed linux on one of my harddrives, but i want to give it another harddrive for full usage. I used this guide to mount the raw drive:
http://www.sysprobs.com/access-physical ... n-software
But whenever i try to partition the drive to something else like ext3/4 i get the following error message:
error id: BLKCACHE_IOERR
severity: Non-Fatal Error
The i/o cache encountered an error while updating data in medium, "ahci-0-1" (rc=VERR_ACCESS_DENIED)

Re: Error when trying to partition raw disk
Sorry, could someone delete this.
I just realized my stupid mistake. I still had it formatted as ntfs drive in windows and it was still mounted. As soon as i deleted the volume from windows disk manager, so it was free space, it work perfect.
