I have Virtualbox 4.0.8 installed on Fedora 14 and the extension pack installed. I created a Windows XP Home VM and now I am trying to connect to it using Virtualbox remote display feature. I enabled remote display on the VM I created but I fail to make a connection. I have firewall disabled on both host and guest. I know XP Home does not have the Remote Desktop like XP Pro does but shouldn't I still be able to connect using VirtualBox tools? I used the IP of the host and changed port to 5000 (on both ends).
SOLVED:
Simply restart VirtualBox service.

Re: Remote Display to Windows XP Home Guest Fails
I am currently unsuccessful at getting the vrdp server capabilities working on a similar configuration (XP Home guest, but running on an OS X Snow Leopard virtualbox 4.0.8 server). Can you be a bit more specific when you suggest the solution of restarting the virtualbox service? I've done that, and have rebooted the host machine, but to no avail.
Are you 100% sure you can VRDP into an XP Home guest machine?
Thank You
