I just installed Bodhi 1.1.0 which is Ubuntu 10.04 based, added the guest additions. I noticed when the modules were building it never said it was actually building the openGL module and after every restart I get an error saying my hardware doesn't support openGL although 3D is enabled. Everything else seems fine, screen resizing, shared folders and clipboard, mouse integration etc. I've noticed in the past some guests actually say the OpenGL module is being built while others don't. Anything I can check or do to make sure the OpenGL module was actually built?
running VB 4.0.8
thanks

Re: OpenGL module not building?
okay well, I get a small window that shows a red, blue and green gear turning and a frame rate. I take it that's all it does. I'm not sure what this tells me however. So, if 3d and opengl are installed and working, why doesn't a guest recognize it?Perryg wrote:Sure run glxgears in a terminal

Re: OpenGL module not building?
You ran that in the guest correct? Then OpenGL is working in the guest.
Look at the terminal while you are running it and see what it says or after you close the gears window.
Now why Bodhi does not work its openGL packages, that would be between you and Bodhi. I messed with it a while back and did not get too far with it myself. Did not like the way it worked, but that is just me.

Re: OpenGL module not building?
there was an error message when I closed the gears window which escapes me at the moment. however, apparently it may not be a virtualbox issue but the new compositing that is replacing ecomorph in e17. it seems some people have the same issue on hardware.Perryg wrote:You ran that in the guest correct? I'll post the error here in case it means something to anyone.
