Hi,

Is it possible to use MS NLB, between two Windows 2k3 or 2k8 with VirtualBox ?
At that time i was unable to made it working, it seems that the error message "0x8004100a" is relevant to the lack of one feature like on Hyper-V "MAC Spoofing".
I'm using the unicast mode.

Here is one link for the explanation of this features : http://exchangeserverpro.com/nlb-cluste ... er-v-guest

If it doesn't work because it is FAD not to be able to spoof MAC with VBox, is it possible to request an enhancement ?

Thanks in advance,

Not sure exactly wht you're after, but you can change the MAC address of your Virtualbox network card.

Hi,

Thanks for your feedback, but i can't do that. NLB @MAC is specific address where the second octet is dynamically modified by the NLB protocol.
So i need to have a physical address and a NLB address too on the same NIC.

Bye,

With NLB, you mean Network Load Balancing? If that is all, then it's done by the Host OS. It should have created a virtual adapter for fast switching, else it can't change the MAC address easily. You can only set one, or keep the one in the hardware itself. With a virtual NIC, one is set no matter what physical adapter is used (the actual workings are a bit harder to explain, so I won't do that here). If you can use that virtual adapter with Bridged, then you're fine and good to go. If no virtual adapter is created to load balance things, then it works in a different way than I'm thinking.
