Hi everyone,
I am running a windows vista guest on my win 7 host and for some reason I just can't figure out how to enable my keyboard in virtual box...Help please?
Thanks,

Keyboards are a shared resource. Make sure that you do not have a filter set for the keyboard in the guest settings -> USB

I don't have a filter on for it, I installed the guest and it hasn't been working from the beginning...do I have to activate anything in the program to allow it to access the keyboard?

Nothing needs to be activated for the keyboard. It should just work. Is the install a full retail disk?
Post the guests log file (as an attachment)

No indications of an issue in the log file, however you should turn on hardware-v in your bios to be able to run 64-bit guests.
Code: Select all
00:00:00.783 HWACCM: No VT-x or AMD-V CPU extension found. Reason VERR_VMX_MSR_LOCKED_OR_DISABLED
During the install the keyboard must have worked or you would not have been able to register the activation key. When did the keyboard fail?
You might try taking the check mark out of the enable USB 2 in the guest settings and see if it allows the keyboard to return.
