[Solved] How to remove persistent shared folders

Because of troubles getting shared folders to work, I've deleted all shared folders from devices|shared folders. But in /media I still see them like: sf_sharenames. And they are mounted to the once shared folders. With sudo I can view the content and they indeed show the shared folder contents.

The troubles I've had where virtualbox complaining about broken folders. So now my virtualbox settings are clear (i assume), but the mounted shares remain persistent.

How do I get rid of them? Why are they there anyway in media?

Host: Windows 7 64 bit.
Guest: Ubuntu 10.04 LTS.
Virtualbox: 4.06 r 71416.

Shut down the guest. Open the guest settings and make sure that the share is in fact gone. Reboot the guest and delete the /media/sf_* folder.

Thanks, this seems to work. Probably the only thing I did was reboot the guest and did not power it down completely.
