I ran across a couple posts here and elsewhere that referenced using
VBoxManage addiscsidisk ....

That doesn't seem to exist anymore. I went through all the change logs trying to find out when it was changed or removed but no luck.
Is there another way to do this now?

You can only do that with storageattach though. On a side note, you should quit the cigs, it might make that cough go away.

So what's the difference between addiscsidisk and storageattach --medium iscsi? You add an iSCSI volume to a VM with both methods.

I have users that want the option of adding disks to their VM. addiscsidisk would allow me to create the drive and make it available in the event the regular user decided he needed it. The regular user could then decide when to shut his VM down and attach the drive using a restricted web interface like phpvirtualbox. Obviously, you don't want regular users mucking about with your iSCSI targets.

Then you have to modify your web interface to list the existing iSCSI targets and those are passed down as arguments when using the VBoxManage command. So instead of relying on VB to keep a list, you have to make one instead. Bit more work, but should be doable.

Actually, I just skipped using the VB iSCSI initiator and used the host server's iSCSI initiator to provide a partition for VB to create regular hdds on. Seems to have a bit better performance too, probably since you are getting the benefit of caching from both the VB host and iSCSI server.
