hi all again!!
i have two VM up & running perfectly in my host.
the next step i want to do and i can't accomplish is to create 2 shared folders one for VM1-HOST & anotherone for VM2-HOST.
the problem i got is that i don't know how to link the GuestAdditions to my VM to perform the install.
i thought of using the same command as installing the OS guest iso(i followed the user manual to install the VM's) :
VBoxManage storageattach "BXVI" --storagectl "IDE Controller2" --port 0 --device 1 --type dvddrive --medium /path/to/guestAddition.iso.
i have taken a look at the "user manual section 8 VBoxManage" but i can't manage to install the GuestAdditions.
sorry if i got the answer infront but i can't see it.
thanks!!
well i have found that the guestaddition.iso is at /dev/dvd. so i did "./VBoxLinuxAdditions.run" and failed in two things doing the installation.
1st-> i figured that i need to install the dkms, linux-header.
uname -r 2.6.18-92.el5
when i do "./VBoxLinuxAdditions.run" it says : the headers for the current runnig kernel where not found. try yum install kernel-devel-2.6.18-92.el5. it seems you system is not set up to build kernel modules.
i don't think this is right, or yes¿?¿?¿?
thanks!!

Re: VBoxHeadless & GuestAdditions
hi all again!!
i searched a bit and it says that to be able to install guestadditions you should do yum update, yum install kernel-devel, yum install kernerl-headers, yum install dkms (wich didn't found nothing).
doing yum update it installed kernel 2.6.18-238.9.1.el5 wich it doesn't boot correctly. i also did "locate 2.6.18-238" and it doesn't find any kernel folder or file that matches with it.
my default kernel is 2.6.18-02.el5 but doing "sh ./VBoxLinuxAdditions run" it doesn't install correctly it says that maybe i need to do yum install kernel-devel 2.6.18-92 but it is against 2.6.18-238 and not against 2.6.18-92. also says that maybe my system is not set up to build kernel modules. but i do lsmod and it prints lots of modules(dkms is not there). so i don't know what am i missing.
any suggestions¿?¿?
thanks!!
