Read RaisesFS partition on external USB hard drive?

Host system is Windows 7 Home Premium. Guest system is Ubuntu 10.04. VirtualBox 4.0.6 with the Extensions Pack installed.
An external IDE hard drive is attached to the host system via a USB cable (external hard drive enclosure). There are two partitions on the hard drive: a NTFS partition and RaiserFS partition.
In Ubuntu, I need to access the RaiserFS partion on the external hard drive. The problem is, VirtualBox doesn't seem to be able to mount the USB device and I presume it's because there are two differently formatted partitions on it.
Any suggestions?
