Using dial-up USB modem on Guest

Post by blink »

Hey,

I have a quick question about using USB modems on Guest systems.

I am running ubuntu server v10.10 on a Dell Razor Edge r210.
I am using Virtual Box 4.0.6, with extension and addon packs.

I have been trying to get Windows XP Guests to use an Agere-v.92 USB modem (ENF656-USB-AGER).
While I have been able to get both operating systems to detect the modem, I have not been able to dial out.

Does anyone had any success using a USB modem? If so, what is your setup?

Thanks in advance,
B

Yeah, I had been using expansion pack 4.0.4

I just tried expansion pack 4.0.6, still no luck.

I tried Windows 7 as well. Same problem: initialized modem won't dial out.

Try USB Filters.

And try unplugging device, starting guest, plugin device.
