Hello all,
I've been trying to find this information on the forums and on the web, but I haven't been able to find anything specific to my situation so I was hoping to find out what other peoples' experiences are.
First, the obligatory system detail... I have VB 4.0.6 installed on my host (Windows 7 x64) and the latest guest additions installed in my guest (Fedora 14 with all of the latest updates). My graphics card is an NVIDIA GeForce 8600M GT with 256MB memory and, while I don't think that it has the most bleeding edge drivers, they should still be pretty close to up-to-date. I also have the experimental 3D acceleration turned on in the settings for my guest.
OK, on to my question. I am running Chrome 11 and I thought that I'd try out Google's Body Browser to take a look at how Chrome did with WebGL in a virtualized guest. I was able to get the Compiz desktop effects running in my guest so I thought that this would be something fun to play with. When I load the page, it says that the browser supports WebGL but that WebGL isn't initializing properly. I looked on their troubleshooting page and it looks like my system should be supported, but they don't mention anything about any "gotchas" when running this inside of a virtual PC. I have been searching online for any information that there might be to try to troubleshoot this, but I haven't been able to find anything out there. I am assuming that I need the 3D acceleration activated and, from what it says in the VB user manual, that appears to be the case. I read the parts in the manual that dealt with the display settings and the 3D settings and, as far as I can tell, I think that I've got everything configured the right way (and I thought that getting the Compiz desktop effects working was a confirmation of that). I know, though, that there's always the possibility of missing something, so if I have, please let me know.
I can't imagine that I'm the first one to try this so I was wondering if there is anybody else out there that has tried this and what their experience was. Is the behavior above normal and to be expected or have I misconfigured something? Any helps or comments would be greatly appreciated. Thanks!
Regards,
John

Bump... Sorry if it's tacky to bump this. It'll be the only time that I bump it.

3D / OpenGL is not fully supported. If your program use some missed features, it may not work. Nothing you can do instead of waiting for future versions.
