0PE(grub4dos) can not work in VirtualBox

Post by peter1123 »

What is 0PE?

Introduction

0PE is a Windows PE made by Pseudo, a bbs.wuyou.com Forum Grand Marshal.

It is based on MicroPE, and increased the number of features.

Its architecture is component-based, and can easily add or remove components.

0PE has the ability to access system resources on your hard disk. Even if it is cut to only several megabytes in size (close to zero, so called zero-volume PE, abbreviated as 0PE), it still has a full-featured PE potential.

0PE invented the procedural grub4dos menu technology, and can be flexibly deployed. The menu items to boot 0PE and MicroPE have listed in the sample menu file (menu.lst) of the grub4bdos official release.

where can i download the 0PE

what is the problem with the 0PE & virtualbox
I have no idea.
But when i boot it from Grub4dos menu list. It shows a black screen.
0PE can good work in VMware & Real machine

I guess it's some problem between Grub4dos & Virtualbox
Please help me fix this problem.

Best Regards

Sounds more like you need to get the hardware recipe right, e.g. turn IO APIC on pehaps, or don't use SATA.

I've used several bootable devices with Grub4Dos, and I didn't encounter any problems, so be careful to have the proper settings, for me it worked fine with default settings, and I use IDE for HDD/CDRom.

I have tried to turn IO APIC on, but still not work.

The 0PE has used so many Grub4dos advcance feature. Therefore, this problem occurs

I've tested the 0PE image, and the functionality of GRUB4DOS is OK, try any other features without loading the PE, so the problem doesn't resides on GRUB4DOS but on PE image itself, and there is a possibility of incompatibility with the VB emulation.
