I had a lot of trouble with OpenVPN using bridged networking, and by default I used the PCI-Fast III v-adaptor. After upgrading to 4.0.6, I could no longer get a working configuration, DHCP would give me an IP but not a gateway. The host is Windows.

Fortunately, I had an encrypted VNC connection back to the host, so I could fart around with it for a while and finally revert it back to 4.0.4, at which point it came back up. Things I tried: Switching to paravirtualized networking (worked, but no change in behavior), rebooting the VM and the host several times, adding a static IP and gateway (packets to the gateway and other LAN systems still dropped, although I got some traffic to/from the VPN server).

I had a closer look through the changelog and I believe that might be what tripped things up:
Host-Only & Bridged & Internal Networking: fix for processing promiscuous mode requests by VMs, defaulting to switch behaviour

So my question is, how to I flip back to hub mode so that I receive all broadcasts again? Is it a configuration file somewhere? And if that doesn't help, is there anything else I can look at? I'd hate to be stuck on an unsupported version forever.

Keep in mind that the next release should have this included as a setting. I already have it in my development install.
