USB keeps connecting to the slower controller

The guest system is Windows XP, VB is 4.0.6. WinXP was installed under 4.0.0 with no extension pack. I have reinstalled VB to 4.0.6, added the extension pack and installed the guest additions. However, USB devices still connect to "Standard OpenHDC USB Host Controller" rather than to "Intel 82801FB/FBM USB2 Enhanced Host Controller". WinXP is then complaining that USB 2.0 device is attached to USB 1.0 port. Is there any way how to remove the slower controller and/or force VB to attach the device to the faster one?

Look in the guest settings and under the USB section. Make sure that the USB2 has a check in it.

It has the check. Actually, if I uncheck it, the "Intel 82801FB/FBM USB2" does not even appear in the system.

From a host terminal/command window run the following 2 things for me
VBoxManage list usbhost
VBoxManage list extpacks

I assume you did a reboot of the host and the device is USB2 compatible.
