Linux guest doesn't get full processor clock speed

Hi,

I'm using a Mac Mini with Snow Leopard and have a problem with my Linux guests. VirtualBox is version 4.0.2.
When I used a Linux host, every guest had the full processor clock speed as expected. Under the Mac OS X host the guests get just a piece of it and this piece varies over the time: sometimes they get almost the whole speed, sometimes not even 200 MHz and so they behave sluggish. I found it out with Conky and with the distros (mainly openSUSE) own system tools.
How can I fix this to provide the whole processor clock speed to the VMs?

Thanks in advance!

If you can throttle the speed on the Host side, then put it in full speed there. It sounds like the Host is throttling the CPU speed and the VM takes the speed that is currently available. If the Host has it on the lowest speed, the VM will get that and use it. Disable CPU throttling on the Host to keep the high speed all the time.
