I´ve been reading about networking in VB, but I´m too much a newbie in these things to understand it.
I´m trying to learn coding socket connections between linux and windows through a tutorial.
For that I´ve setup 2 guests, one running WindowsXP the other Ubuntu 10.10.
The question is now, what settings do I need so the 2 guests can connect to each other, both can connect to the web, but nobody can connect to either of them from outside my host PC?

Re: socket connection between guests
You can setup a lab using Internal for the guests and one more for the routing. http://forums.virtualbox.org/viewtopic.php?f=25&t=36181 will give you a visual of what you need to do. It is for testing a domain but will work the same for what you are wanting to do.

Re: socket connection between guests
Thanks for the link, looks easy enough.
Just one follow up question:
I guess one would use a 2nd network adapter in the settings of all the VM´s and set those to internal network?

Re: socket connection between guests
The two that you are really using do not need a second adapter. Just the one that you are using to do the actual routing for you. The pFsense or Win XP with ICS is the only one that need the second adapter.
