I need to install Oracle Linux as a host system in VirtualBox on Windows 7 Unfortunately, the computer system in general does not begin to start again. Hangs at the very beginning. I tried to install on another computer (also Windows 7 and virtualbox 4.0.4 so all the same) the system started and it worked ok. I moved the system installed on my computer and still the same. Try it with IOAPIC enabled. Also, if that doesn't work, transfer the entire VM from the working machine to the non-working machine to rule out any configuration differences. You didn't give the specs of the other machine that does work, just the one that doesn't work. We need a better comparison here.

Try to disable SMX. It can cause problems when using hypervisors/virtual machines.

The problem was an option in the BIOS - EDB (Execute Disable Bit) was disable.
