VBoxManage with error

Post by Hanisch »

Hello,
when I go from my KDE-Desktop with Strg+Alt+F1 to Konsole, logged in as user and then type

Code: Select all

VBoxManage startvm "Gentoo"
the message

Code: Select all

...
Waiting for the VM to power on ...
VBoxManage: error: The virtual machine "Gentoo" has terminated unexpectedly during startup with exit code 0
VBoxManage: error: Details: code NS_ERROR_FAILURE (0x80004005). component Machine, Interface IMachine, callee
is shown.
What means this error?

Regards

Beats me. What happens if you run this VM from the GUI? Perhaps it would help if you provided complete error information: do not summarise. Perhaps also post the latest log for that VM (upload as a zipped attachment please).

Sounds like you are trying to run this from a tty and it should work if you log into it as the same user but not knowing what the host OS is makes it hard to track down. On some OSes Logging out of the tty will kill the service.

I would use the terminal to start this and use nohup if you are trying to get the terminal to close and not kill the guest.
