Add Serial Port COM1 on Windows 7

Post by nb91 »

Hi,

I use Virtualbox on Fedora 14. My OS Guest is Windows 7. All works fine but I have an issue. I need to use the serial port COM1 on my virtual Windows 7. I tried several solutions but the serial port COM1 don't added or don't work.

I read several topics about this but my problem persist. Can you help me to add the serial port COM1 on my virtual Seven.

Thank you for your help

All you need do is enable the comm port in the VM settings. The step you are probably missing is to go into Win7 device manager and tell it to look for new hardware - the serial port is not "plug and play".
