keyboard type does not appear to be known

Hello,
enclosed VBox.log says:
I use a VPN tunnel to access the Ubuntu 10.04 Host per VNC, start it's VirtualBox and the problematic guest.
Tell me, if you need more informations, please.
What can I do, to get the correct german keyboard layout?

I use VirtualBox 3.1.6 under Ubuntu 10.04. I installed a Ubuntu 8.04 guest, choosed German as language and Keyboard layout, but keys like z are shown as y.
