Screen resolution

Hello everyone,
I am running VirtualBox 4.0, my host is windows 7 pro, and the guest that I have created is windows xp. However everything runs off of a cd, and I do not have a "guest" per say because it runs from the cd. I cannot install anything because it all hooks up to a main server, and it will not allow me to install anything.
Now the resolution is very poor, 800 x 600. Even if I use scale mode, it will just stretch the resolution. I would like to have a bigger resolution, however, I cannot have a guest addition.
Anyone any ideas?
