[Solved] Win7 low screen resolution

My VirtualBox (ubuntu host) runs XP at full resolution 1920x1200 (single monitor) or 3840x1200 (dual monitor). For some reason I can't do that with Win7 on the same host. Only resolutions offered in virtual Win7 are...
3840 x 1024
3200 x 1200
2560 x 1024
1600 x 1200
1400 x 1050
1280 x 1024
1280 x 960
1152 x 864
1024 x 768
800 x 600
I have installed Guest Additions.
Any ideas how to improve resolution to full screen... [host]+F does not increase the resolution. It just gives me black bars at top/bottom.

Then the guest additions are not installed or not installed properly (in the guest).
Install them again and watch for errors.

Guest - I logged in as domain admin (which of course is a local admin as well) and re-installed Guest Additions with no errors.
I then checked the /var/log/vbox-install.log and there were no additional entries.
"Oracle VM VirtualBox Guest Additions 3.2.12.r68302" shows in my system tray. My video resolution is unchanged.
Previously I had installed Guest Additions from the local user account (pre domain join). And at that time, like previous XP installs, it gave me messages about being non-Microsoft approved software, which of course I clicked through. But this time it did not do that. I don't know what that means, just telling you what happened.
Any more ideas?

Over and over I've tried... reboot... reinstall Additions... change user login... nothing worked. So I gave up, accepted the best resolution I could get and moved on. I wanted another copy of my Win7.vdi to use as a test machine.
I copied it from command line.
I changed the uuid with 'vboxmanage internalcommands sethduuid
I created a new VM using the new .vdi
I logged in and hit full screen {host}V
IT WORKS!
I can't tell you why. I confirmed that all settings on the VM are the same between the previous VM and the newly created one.
Perhaps this will help someone else.
